Tiana Plane
Project:
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Plane Livery
Client:
Disneyland Resort + Alaska Airlines
This magical livery celebrates the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland Park. As the first Alaska Airlines livery to feature a Disney Princess, this plane features enchanting images of Princess Tiana, along with Louis the Alligator, Prince Naveen, Mama Odie, and a few other bayou friends!
It took artists over 2,000 hours to paint the plane’s exterior from nose to tail, adding magical touches like the cheerful Louis the Alligator swimming among the bayou’s water lilies, along with surprise appearances by Mama Odie and Prince Naveen on the winglets.

Early development
Since the very first concept, I knew I wanted to highlight the magical atmosphere of the bayou that Guests would experience on this new attraction. Creating comps featuring Walt Disney Imagineering’s attraction concept art helped set the stage for this scenery. To enhance the enchanting environment, I incorporated water lilies—an integral part of the attraction and a symbol of Tiana’s rise through adversity in The Princess and the Frog film. As I developed the initial concepts, though, I felt that the celebratory spirit of the ride was missing, especially toward the center of the aircraft. To bring that energy to life, I experimented with adding silhouettes of Tiana’s bayou friends, eventually leaning into the beloved Louis the Alligator, who joins Tiana on her journey.
Through collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering and the Consumer Products teams, I designed a unique livery that captures the magical essence of the bayou from the initial concepts, while evolving into vector art better suited for the scale of an aircraft.
